Family Therapy
Supporting Family Relationships and Dynamics
Family therapy addresses the complex dynamics that exist within family systems. We work together to improve communication, understand family patterns, and create healthier relationships that support each family member's growth and wellbeing.
Understanding Family Therapy
Family therapy recognizes that families are complex systems where each member's behaviour affects and is affected by others. Rather than focusing on individual problems, this approach examines relationship patterns, communication styles, and family dynamics that may be contributing to difficulties.
Using systemic and psychodynamic approaches, we explore how family history, cultural background, and generational patterns influence current family functioning. This understanding helps families develop new ways of relating that honour each member's needs and promote overall family wellbeing.
The goal is to create a family environment where each member feels heard, valued, and supported while maintaining healthy boundaries and roles that allow the family system to function effectively.

My Approach to Family Work
I work with families from a systemic perspective, recognizing that change in one family member affects the entire system. My approach is collaborative, ensuring that every family member's voice is heard and valued.
We explore multigenerational patterns, cultural influences, and family roles that may be contributing to current difficulties. Understanding these deeper patterns helps families make conscious choices about how they want to relate to each other.
I create a safe space where difficult topics can be discussed openly, conflicts can be resolved constructively, and family members can develop greater empathy and understanding for each other.
